Make a #PowerSwitch
Switch off your devices and screens and get your game on for one hour a week to connect with people you care about, improve your wellbeing, and support the health of our planet.
At E.ON Next, we believe in positive change, so we’re proud to be pink cows — doing things differently to the herd — and inviting customers to use less energy at peak times.
#PowerSwitch savings

Switch on to cheaper rates with Next Smart Saver.*
Make the most of switching off at peak times with our Next Smart Saver tariff that adapts the cost of the electricity you use based on the time of day you use it.
You’ll have the option to use electricity at a lower price (pence per kilowatt hour unit rates) during defined ‘off-peak’ hours of 5am-4pm and 7pm-2am, and during ‘super off-peak’ hours of 2am-5am, while charging a higher price during ‘peak’ hours of 4pm-7pm.
Four steps to making a positive change.
With lives being so busy, it can be easier to keep things as they are. Here are four steps to success with your new energy saving habits.
Know your why.
On average, we spend five hours a day on our screens - what else could you do with just one of those hours that would bring you joy and wellbeing? Make a note of this - your own personal reason why.
Make it a team game.
Saving energy shouldn’t feel like homework. You’ll find your new habits are much more likely to stick when you come together with others to make the most of switching off.
Plan it in your diary.
If you rely on finding a moment to switch off when it feels like the right time, there can always be a reason to stay plugged in. Making space and time in your week to look forward to helps you prioritise what’s important to you.
Celebrate the difference.
Habits can get let go when we don’t see their impact. Capture the moment with a photo, record yourself a short voice note afterwards - to remember how it feels to switch off, to record the impact, and to inspire you to continue.
^ Based on 91% of UK households with a 43” TV with an annual usage of 88,574kWh, a yearly running cost of £22.79 and a unit price of 25.73p. Calculated using the UK electricity carbon intensity of approximately 124 grams of CO2 per kilowatt-hour.
* Rates depend on your tariff and electricity usage. Based on information from customers on Next Smart Saver: a 12 month fixed term tariff with lower off-peak (5am–4pm, 7pm–2am) and super off-peak (2am–5am) unit rates versus our standard variable tariff. T&Cs apply. Standard variable tariff used for comparison may vary over time.
