Making new energy work for everyone.

Blog- playmaker - making new energy work

Right now, big changes are happening in the energy world. The UK is in the middle of an energy transition, with the aim of creating a more secure and sustainable supply.

At E.ON Next, we’re determined to make this new energy work for everyone. We want to do that by helping remove the barriers of the energy transition, so that our customers can reduce both their bills and their environmental impact, by saving CO2.

Making new energy work.

As a major energy supplier, we know we have a vital role to play. That’s why we’re already supporting our customers through the energy transition in a number of ways:

  • We supply you with 100% renewable electricity on our Next Gust1 and Next Drive2 tariffs.

  • Our Next Pledge tariff means you can count on energy prices that are always lower than the price cap.

  • We’ve installed more than 1.5 million energy saving measures in homes, resulting in over £10 billion of savings on energy bills over the lifetime of those products.

  • We offer efficient home energy tech, like heat pumps in place of old gas boilers, to help customers slash carbon and save money.

  • We’re installing solar panels (so far, over 16,000 in residential properties alone), and batteries that can help save hundreds of pounds on bills.

  • We offer EV chargers and tariffs in one, to make being more sustainable simpler.

  • This summer, we’re helping festival goers to keep connected by giving them the opportunity to charge their mobiles with 100% renewable electricity.

  • Over 5 million smart meters installed.

But as the demand for energy grows and more renewable sources are connected to the grid, the energy systems in Britain need to become more adaptable. We’re encouraging both government and business to invest in sustainable development of a future smart grid.

Out with old energy thinking, in with new energy thinking.

Out with insecurity, in with energy security. By removing barriers for customers to feel good about using less energy and helping to promote the use of renewable sources, we’re making new energy work for everyone. We’re determined to do all this while reducing our own carbon footprint to net zero, and inspiring the rest of the energy industry to join us in helping to reduce climate change.

We make new energy work.

At E.ON Next we're making new energy work for you with EV chargers + tariff, heat pumps, solar panels & batteries, and a local wind tariff.

We will remove the barriers that prevent people from using less energy. Collectively, we should all use less energy to help secure the future of our planet. But it needn’t feel like a chore or a sacrifice. Through PowerSwitch, we’re encouraging people to discover the unexpected benefits of using less energy and feeling good about it.

Ultimately, we’re committed to making new energy work because we recognise that energy companies like us have a duty. That’s because 70% of CO2 emissions are energy related after all – and our contribution to help customers to reduce them is needed now more than ever.
